William Wendt

William Manford “Bill” Wendt, 83, of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Hedrick Medical Center.

Bill was born June 18, 1938, to parents Clifton and Goldie (Wilson) Wendt in Mercer, Missouri.  He was a graduate of Princeton High School. William married Caroline Sue Tharp on June 4, 1960, in Trenton, Missouri. He retired from Donaldson Company of Chillicothe.

Bill was a member of Spickard Baptist Church. He enjoyed working and spending time outside. Spending time with his family was very important to him especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife, Caroline Wendt; Children, Doug Wendt and wife Vicki of Joplin; Melinda Henry of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Brandon Wendt; Kyle Wendt; Travis Henry and wife Lauren; Bailey Henry; great-grandchildren, Logan Tate; Emma Wendt; sister, Connie Byers; loved by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Goldie Wendt; brother, Jack Wendt; sisters, Anna Mae Wendt and Mary Ellen Cottrell.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Burial will take place at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
