Virgil Keller, Sr.

Virgil Allen Keller, Sr., 69, of Chillicothe MO passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at his home, under the care of his family and Hospice Advantage of Gallatin.
Virgil was born in Washington, Iowa on May 14, 1946, the son of Delmar Leroy Keller, Sr. and Katherine Virginia Beason Keller.  He attended school in Chula, MO.
On January 31, 1964 Virgil married Martha Louise Roney at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. She preceded him in death November 14, 2007.
In his younger days Virgil worked at the Golden Grill at Mart Drug Store in Chillicothe. He was a millworker at Milbank Mills for 42 years and during that time he also became a certified electrician.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and he enjoyed hunting, gardening, and fixing things. He liked to box and enjoyed dancing, but the time spent with   the children and grandchildren was the number one activity  of his life.
Virgil is survived by six children, Lydia Winsor and Virginia Durnil both of Chillicothe, Virgil Keller, Jr. and wife Trena  of Hale MO, Mary Summers and husband Shannon of Hale MO, Aaron Keller and wife Sarah of Hutchinson KS, and Amanda Lamotte and husband William of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Ross Keller, Charles Keller, Rose High, Kathy Phillips, Donnie Ritz, Victor McCracken and Vicky Shatto; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha; and siblings, Audrey Baker, Delmar Keller II, Marsha Keller, Cindy Keller and Ronnie Keller.
Memorials in honor of Virgil may be made to the Spina Bifida Association or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. On-line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
There will be a cremation and private family burial at a later date.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
