Thelma Buttman

Thelma Fern Buttman, 79, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at Indian Hills Retirement Village in Chillicothe, under the care of her family and Hedrick Medical Center Hospice.
She was born November 10, 1932 in Eversonville, MO, the daughter of Lloyd and Lavon Ewing Engleman. She lived in the Eversonville and Meadville area until she graduated from Meadville High School in 1950.
After graduation she was employed with Green Hill Grocery in Chillicothe. She later worked for B&R Warehouse and Savage Grocery.
In March, 1951 she married Ronald L. Simpson. He preceded he in death on June 9, 1957. In September 1981 she married Clarence W. Buttman who preceded her in death in 2005.
Thelma was a member of Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe.
She was proud of the fact the she could recite the alphabet as fast backward as forward and she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and word search puzzles but spending time with her family was the greatest enjoyment of all.
Thelma is survived by two daughters, Connie (Michael) Landino of Colorado Springs, CO and Lisa (Rodney) Jones of Chillicothe; a son, John (Tamra) Simpson of St. Joseph, MO;  eight granddaughters, Bridget Simpson, Jennifer Austill, Kimberly Spainhour, Rebekkah (Anthony) Martin, Hilary and Angel Simpson, Laura (Cory) Hanavan, and Kelsey Jones; 10 great grandchildren; a step-son, Donald (Pilar Buttman of Kansas City; a step- daughter, Madonna (Alvin) Tiemeyer of Meadville; 6 step-grandchildren, David (Jenny) Buttman, Brenda Buttman, Donnie Buttman, Connie (Jeff) Buswell, Peggy (Max) Simmons and Max (Tonya) Tiemeyer; three brothers, Lloyd (Peggy) Engleman of Weatherby Lake, James (Vivian) Engleman of Chillicothe and Jerry Engleman of CA; three sisters, Janet Roark of Gladstone, MO, Nancy (William) Gooch of Warrenton, MO and Sherry Goldsmith of Calabasas, CA. she is also survived by many step-great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands,  Ronald and Clarence, listed above; a son Ronald L. Simpson Jr; and 2 step-granddaughters, Bonnie Tiemeyer and Patsy Scott.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, MO.
The is no scheduled visitation.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
