Sue was born on September 17, 1955, to Dolores Amos, in Kansas City, MO.
Sue passed away on October 10, 2025, in Chillicothe, MO surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, and sister, Dee.
Sue was born the oldest of six children. Her family moved around a few times, but her fondest memories and favorite childhood home were in Ludlow, MO.
Sue was a very hard worker, often working two to three jobs. In her early years she worked at a couple glove factories, and nursing homes.
But cooking was her passion, and later in her working career she took great pride cooking in the kitchen at Hedrick Medical Center, and finished her working career at Chillicothe Correctional Center, where she retired in December of 2021.
She loved preparing meals for her family and friends. Her homemade bread and rolls were everyone's favorites!
Sewing was also a talent of hers. She often made her own uniform tops when working at the hospital and also made several of the shirts she wore daily. She took pride in every stitch. She also loved to crochet and has made so many blankets for her loved ones over the years.
Sue loved to have fun! She loved telling ornery jokes and she loved playing pool and dancing. Elvis music was her all-time favorite!
She made pain cream with essential oils. The recipe was her own, and she loved sharing the cream with family and friends. It was later named "Miracle in a Jar". She was extremely proud of that!
Sue's home was always full of her children's friends over the years, and they all lovingly called her Momma Sue!
But Sue's pride and joy was being a mother to her three children: Sarah Provolt (Chillicothe, MO), Heath (Amy) Cole (Olathe, KS), and Chelsea (Dustin) Rinehart (Chillicothe, MO).
Sue fell even more in love when she became a "mamaw" to eight grandchildren: Candas Provolt, Kirsten Scott, Kendall Provolt, Kolby Sue Provolt, Kadence Clark, Ember Clark, and twin grandsons, Landon & Liam Cole. She also had three bonus grandchildren: Keagan Rinehart, Kamryn Rinehart, and Kaylin Rinehart. And two great grandchildren: Willow Barron and Riggs Barron.
Sue is survived by her three children, her grandchildren, her brother Jack Adrian (Kidder, MO), and sister Dee Lavo (Mesa, AZ).
She was preceded in death by her mother Dolores "Amos" Adrian, her sister Kathy "Cole" Munroe, great granddaughter Broox Barron, niece Mandy Adrian, nephew Scott Adrian, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and her beloved dog Sheba Lee Marie.
Upon Sue's request there will be a cremation with a celebration of life on October 25, 2025 at the Veteran's Building in Chillicothe, MO. Visitation with the family at 11:00 am. Celebration of life begins at 12:00 pm (noon) with a dinner to follow.
Sue's sharp wit, ornery personality, and fun sense of humor are going to be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her!
