Steve Anthony Saale

     Steven Anthony Saale, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Steve was born the son of Mary Louise (Williams) Darr, on December 7, 1953, in Chillicothe, Missouri. In 2001, Steve married Mary Kae, in Independence Missouri. He retired from the Illinois Railroad where he then took up a second trade with the Brick Layers Union of Kansas City. Steve’s final retirement was some time after Steve and Mary Kae moved to their small farm (SS Ranch) in Chillicothe, Missouri. Where they enjoyed each other’s company, family time, vegetable gardening, and their small herd of cattle. Steve was a devoted St. Louis cardinal baseball fan. You could find him out on the porch listening to the games with a handheld transistor radio. If he wasn’t on the porch, he was at his stocked ponds fishing with loved ones during the summer months.

     He is survived by his loving wife Mary Kae, four children: Chris Saale (Dee), Rachel Saale, Bobbi McDaniel (Andy), and Ryan Welsh (Serena). Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a large extending family in the surrounding area. Steve will be fondly remembered for his fun loving and smart witted attitude.

     Memorials in honor of Steve Saale can be made to American Cancer Society

     A Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 at Heritage Funeral Home Friday September 12 with a graveside service to follow at Wheeling Cemetery at 1:30.
