Shirley Ann Sellers was born on June 16, 1960 in rural Moultrie County, Illinois, just south of Arthur Illinois. She was the second of three children born to Edward A. and Gertie M. (Lee) Beachy. She grew up in Noxubee County, Mississippi. She joined the Magnolia Conservative Mennonite Church in her youth.
On March 21, 1987, she married John Sellers, the son of John Aaron and Caroline Fain Sellers. Shirley and Mark were married 34 years, 8 months, and 29 days. To this union were born 6 children. John Caleb (Lydia), Lydia Ruth (Jeff) Newman, Joshua Andrew (Alyssa), Tabitha Joanna (Daniel) Yoder, Hannah Abigail (Jesse) Newman, and Josiah Mark.
After living in Tennessee for 18 years, Shirley and her family moved to Missouri. On Sunday, March 11, 2007, Shirley, Mark, and 2 of their children were baptized for the remission of their sins by trine immersion by Elder Donald Knaus, becoming members of the Jamesport District of the German Baptist Church. Shirley remained a faithful member of the church till death.
After an illness of about 21 months, Shirley died at her home on December 20, 2021 from congestive heart failure. She was 61 years, 6months, and 4 days old.
She is survived by her husband Mark, her 6 children: John Caleb (Lydia) of Jamesport, MO, Lydia Ruth (Jeff) Newman of Trenton, MO, Joshua Andrew (Alyssa) of Trenton, MO, Tabitha Joanna (Daniel) Yoder of Trenton, Mo, Hannah Abigail (Jesse) Newman of Arcadia, FL, and Josiah Mark of Free Union, VA, her brother, James (Cheryl) Beachy of Free Union, VA, her sister, Margaret (Lamar) Hochstedler of Orange, VA, her sister-in-law, Carol Ann (John) Eubanks of Moultrie, GA, and 15 grandchildren.
Her Father, Edward A. Beachy preceded her in death.
The funeral is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the Terry Hearn’s residence with burial following at the German Baptist Brethren Cemetery on Major Avenue, Jamesport, Mo.
