Shirley Mae Piercy, 78, of Keytesville MO passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at her home.
Shirley was born in Treynor IA on May 26, 1937 the daughter of George Ernst Ruckman and Gracie Lucille Vanderpool Ruckman
She was a graduate of Underwood High School, Underwood IA.
On June 10, 1955 Shirley married Harold Dean Piercy in Council Bluffs IA. They had 54 wonderful years together before his death on February 12, 2010.
Shirley worked for many years in home nursing and as a cook in local restaurants.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and friends, sewing, reading and doing for others. She loved her flowers, gardening and puzzles.
Shirley was a member of Dalton Immanuel United Methodist Church
She is survived by six children, John Piercy of Warsaw, Eddie (Dee) Piercy of Keytesville, Judy (Charles) Glascock of Rodessa LA, Eva (Bill) Fox of Keytesville, Mary (Jeff) Dimmitt of Rushville IL, and Shirley (Dale) Morris of Keytesville; 17 grandchildren, Wesley, Eddie Jr., Chelisa, Carl, James, Taby, Shane, Paige, Christina, Michelle, LaDawna, Darrell, Waylon, Blake, Dustin, Daniel and Jared; 19 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Don Ruckman, Victor Ruckman, and George Ruckman; 3 sisters, Sally Christiansen, Sharon Hansz and Dora Anthony.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Willie Fox, 2 great grandchildren, her parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in honor of Shirley Mae Piercy be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Whitson Cemetery and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Keytesville United Methodist Church, Keytesville MO.
A private family burial will be held at Whitson Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Keytesville United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
