Shirley Mae Fifer, 79, of Chillicothe passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Boone Hospital, Columbia, MO.
Shirley Mae Fifer was born January 26, 1935 in Springhill, MO the daughter of Ross Cooper and Pearl Hughes Cooper. She was a 1953 graduate of Chillicothe High School.
On May 26, 1953 Shirley married, her husband of 60 years, Robert Allen Fifer He survives of the home.
Shirley was employed by the State of Missouri at the Army National Guard for 28 years and also enjoyed being a homemaker and all the work involved with being a farm wife.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and helped with the Bible study at the old Women’s Prison. She was also a member of the YMCA in Chillicothe and enjoyed cooking and baking.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Deborah Sue Bate and husband Ray of Ashland, MO and Beth Ann Fifer of Port Richey, FL; 3 grandchildren, Kellye Dawn and husband David McCord, Raymond Randall Bate and Allen Andrew Bate; 10 great grandchildren, Breanah, Khloe, Abigail, Hannah, Jonathan, Jason, Layla, Logan, Charlie and Destiny ; one great great grandchild, Serenity; a brother Dean Cooper and a sister, Thelma Drummond; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald James Fifer and brother, Ross Cooper Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, MO.
Burial will be at May Cemetery, Chula MO.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Friday, April 18, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO
