Nina Ruth Gray 77, of Chillicothe MO passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Indian Hills in Chillicothe.
Nina was born February 10, 1936 in rural Davies County near Jameson MO the daughter of Herald Wilton Elmore and Lorean Agnes Barlow Elmore. She was a graduate of Jameson High School.
On March 20, 1955 Nina married Garnie Edgar “Pat” Gray Jr. in Jameson and became a life- long homemaker. Pat preceded her in death just two months after celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2005.
They farmed in Davies County until 1960 when they moved to McCloud CA where she raised three children. In 1980 they moved to Battle Mountain NV where she looked after grandchildren. After retiring in 1991, they moved back to McCloud until 1995 when they moved to Trenton, MO. After the death of her husband in 2005 she moved to Chillicothe with her daughter.
She was a member of the Jameson Baptist Church and a fifty year member of The Order of Eastern Star, Gallatin, MO.
Nina enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, ceramics, crafting of all kinds and flower gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Garnie Edgar Gray III and wife Michele of Spring Creek, NV, and Harold Dean Gray and wife Andrea of Chillicothe; one daughter Beverly Joann Martin of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren, Sarah Lorean Martin (Joe), Jacob Tyler Martin (Kelsey), Aaron Patrick Gray, Coty Alan Gray, Harold Dean Gray Jr. “DJ”, Nina May Gray,and Brooklyn Savanna Gray; three step-grandchildren Zackary Nickolas, Ashley Marie and Alyssa Nicole; one great granddaughter, Kaylor Justice Gray; a sister, Marjorie Arleene Evans and husband Bob of Liberty, MO; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pat Gray; sister, Sharon Francis Durham; a brother, Ralph Wayne Elmore.
