     Mrs. Mary Susan (Sue) Sanson, 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at 8:20 P.M., Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September, 3, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.

     Rosary will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. followed by family visitation until 8:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.

     Memorial to Festival of Lights may be left with Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri or Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.

     Arrangements are by Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri.

     Susan was born November 6, 1937 at Chillicothe, Missouri the daughter of Harry F. and Isabelle Murphy Lightner. She graduated from Chillicothe High School. Before retiring she was employed by the Chillicothe R-2 School District in the food service department.

     She was member of the St. Columban Catholic Church.

     On January 2, 1960 she was married to Stanley Eugene Sanson at Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1990.

     She is survived by her four children Joyce Sanson of the home, Janet Slater and husband Dewayne, Trenton, Missouri, Jane Gann and husband David, Chillicothe, Missouri, Mark Sanson and wife Peg, Van Buren, Arkansas; two granddaughters Kayla Smith and husband Jeff, Laredo, Missouri, Kiley Tigges and husband Jeff, Waukee, Iowa; three great grandchildren Scott Maberry, Frances Smith, Laura Jo Smith all of Laredo, Missouri; two step grandchildren Katelin Gann, Charleston, South Carolina, Curtis Bailey, Van Buren, Arkansas; one sister Jean Van Dyke, Linneus, Missouri; one brother Jack Lightner, Chillicothe, Missouri and her cats Misty and Angel.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, one infant brother Harry Lightner, Jr., one son-in-law Dean Edmundson, two grandchildren Tanner and Tegan Edmundson and one sister Martha Till.
