Marjorie Rose Lewis, 75, of Chillicothe, MO, formerly of Morris, IL, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe,
Marjorie was born February 15, 1937 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Charles Virgil Byars and Grace Charlotte Coan Byars. She attended school in Illinois.
She was fondly known as  “Cricket” to all her friends.
Marjorie worked for many years as  a waitress in area restaurants and also worked as a laborer at BRK which made smoke detectors.
About four years ago Marjorie moved to Chillicothe to be near family. She became a member of Soul’s Harbor Church of God and was active in church activities such as bake sale goods and hosting out of town girls for church functions. She liked to knit and crochet and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Marjorie is survived by 4 sons, Gary Williams and wife, Tammy of Clarksville, TN, Duane Williams and wife, Deanna of Golconda, IL, Bradley Carder of Aurora, IL and Bruce Carder and wife, Tracy of Gallatin, MO; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Mae Jump of West Frankfort, IL; nieces and nephews; and special friend Sharon Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, two brothers, Charles Byars and Ralph Byars; a sister, Shirley “Sis” Krummen.
Memorials in honor of Marjorie Lewis may be made to Heritage Funeral Home to help with expenses and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO. On-line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com .
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday.
Burial will be at Centenary Cemetery, Gallatin, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
