Lonnie Hussey

Lonnie Joe Hussey, age 72, a resident of  Kansas City, MO passed away at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO on Saturday, December 24, 2011. Lonnie was born on June 10, 1939, the son of Mike and Jeannette (Mace)  Hussey. On  August 10, 1997 he married Helen Dorene  Kirkendoll in Chillicothe, MO. He was a member of the Avalon Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge and The Teamsters Union.
Lonnie attended the Avalon and Tina elementary schools and graduated in 1958 from Tina-Avalon High School. He was employed most of his adult life as an over-the-road trucker. Following retirement he enjoyed visiting with family and friends, fishing and traveling with his wife.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Dorene, of the home; two sons, Darin Hussey, of Columbia, MO and Christopher Shockey of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Sharon Reith and husband, Michael of Oak Harbor, WA and Holly Bryant of Basehor, KS; three brother, Jack Hussey and wife, Norma of Chillicothe, MO, Bill Hussey and wife, Pat, of Avalon, MO, Jim Hussey and wife, Doris, of Avalon, MO; one sister, Linda Donoho and husband, Jim of Chillicothe, MO; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters, two brothers, John and Jerry, and one stepson, Kent Kirkendoll.
Memorials in honor of Lonnie Hussey may be made to the Utica Cemetery or the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becanuswecare.com .
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Utica Cemetery, Utica, MO.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
