    Karen Elaine Brown 84, of Chillicothe, MO, passed away on January 8th, 2026 at Pioneer Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing in Marceline, MO. Karen was born on December 7th, 1941 to her parents, Raymond Arthur Stevenson and Phyllis Reger who loved her with all their hearts.

    She graduated from Meadville High School in 1960 and immediately went to work as a clerk for Churchill Truck Lines. When they closed, she then went to work for Community Press as their graphic artist until her retirement.

    On August 4th, 2000 Karen married Gary Rex Brown in Miami, Oklahoma and shared a beautiful life together until his passing in 2023.

    Karen, was a member of Highview Baptist but she mainly attended Blue Mound Cowboy Church. She was also a member of the 4-H club and AQHA.

    Karen was known to love her horses and dogs with great passion and delight. She loved to draw, paint, and sewing wonderful pieces of art. But most importantly loved spending time with her friends and family.

    Karen is survived by three sons, Francis M. Anderson the II (Chip) of Billings, Montana, Mark Brown and his wife Jan of Tina, MO and Mike Brown with his wife Lisa of Chillicothe, MO. Her ten grandchildren, Jo (Sportsman) Henke with her husband Roman of Marceline, MO, Katie Crosser of Topeka, KS, Tatum Gilliland with her husband Clint, Ludlow, MO, Kristi Berryhill of Dallas, Texas, Rhett Anderson and his wife Madison of Tennessee, Clint Brown of Tina, MO, Steve Brown with his wife Ashley of Mendon, MO, Scott Brown of St. Joe, MO, Danielle True of Springfield, MO and Kelsie Anderson with her husband Adam of Trenton, MO. Her brother, Fred Stevenson with his wife Kathy of Wheeling, MO, her sister, Annette Stevenson of Kearney, MO. As well as her daughter-in-law, Christine Anderson of Chillicothe, MO. Several Nieces and Nephews, several great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

    She is preceded by her husbands, Clifford Willard and Gary Brown. Her parents, Raymond and Phyllis Stevenson. Her son and daughter, Clay Anderson and Becky Roggenkamp. And her grandchild Charlie Brown. As well as her sister, Kay Crim.

    A visitation will be held at 12:30pm with a funeral service at 1:30pm on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 at the Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Wheeling Cemetery.

    Memorials in honor of Karen Brown may be made to Healing Hearts with Horses.
