Jerry Dale Sowder

Jerry Dale Sowder, 80 of Chillicothe, MO. passed away at his home on May 24, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was born April 12, 1945 in Braymer, MO. to parents Fred Ward Sowder and Madelyn Herriman Sowder.

Jerry was a graduate of Laredo, MO. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country. He married Connie Sue Prewitt on October 31, 1964 at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, American Legion and UAW also loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid reader, loved family time and helping neighbors, and most of all he loved Jesus Christ.

He is survived by wife Connie, son Mark and wife Tanyal of Richmond MO. And daughter Michelle Lavature and husband Richard of Chillicothe. Grandchildren Gavin Sowder wife Alexis, Haley Franklin husband Kanon, Brian Togun wife Kiauna. Alexis, Kylee, Kortny Lavature. Great Grandchildren Gracie, Beau Sowder, Yvauna Togun, Sister Rita Jacobs, Chillicothe several nieces and nephews

He is proceeded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Deane Jacobs.

Visitation for Jerry will be Wednesday May 28, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home

Funeral service will be Thursday May 29, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church at 5:00 pm with burial at Edgewood Cemetery
