Henry Wilson

Henry Melvin Wilson, 81, of Lock Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at his home in Lock Springs.
Henry was born January 2 1935 in Livingston County near Roach Lake, the son of Walter S. Wilson and Lucy Maude Plaster Wilson. He graduated in 1953 from Jamesport High School, Jamesport, MO.
From 1954 through 1956, Henry served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
On August 13, 1969, Henry married Ramona June Cox in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death in August of 1986.
Henry was fire fighter and retired from the Kansas City Fire Department. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Lock Springs Fire Department for nearly 40 years. Henry also provided transportation for the local Amish community for many years.
He was a life-long hunter and fisherman and enjoyed growing his own garden and spending time with friends and family.
Henry is survived by two sons, Ron Orona of Chillicothe, MO, and Richard Orona and wife, Trish of Chula, MO; daughter, Vicki Wilson and husband, Jeff Girres of Belleville, IL; a host of grandchildren; siblings, Buford Wilson, Marjorie Berry of Chillicothe, Bessie Mason,  Verna Tye of Chillicothe, Donna McLeod and Harold Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ramona; a brother, John Everett Wilson; sister, Lorna McKiddy; a grandson, Cody Adkinson and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in honor of Henry Wilson may be made to the Lock Springs Fire Association and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO. On-line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
There has been a cremation and burial will be Clear Creek Cemetery, Jamesport MO at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral home, Chillicothe, MO.
