Hazel Marie Lawson, 73, of Medicine Lodge, KS, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away March 19, 2012 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.
Hazel was born May 13, 1938 in Chillicothe, MO the daughter of Roy Junior Hatfield and Marie Burton Hatfield. She attended Chillicothe schools.
A resident of Medicine Lodge for over 9 years, Hazel lived with her daughter Rebecca. She enjoyed traveling back to Chillicothe and various parts of the Southwest to visit with family and friends.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, washing dishes, folding laundry and texting on her phone to all her family. She was always on the go and loved to watch the great grandchildren’s sports activities and never passed up an opportunity to travel.
Hazel is survived by 7 children, Randy of Center TX, Jackie of Wichita KS, Dougie of Fayetteville AR, Rebecca and husband, Mark of Medicine Lodge KS, Tracy and husband, Al of Slaughter LA, Richard of Emporia KS and William of Dallas TX; grandchildren, Megan, Josh, Jason, Jaime, Anna, Robbie, Joshua, Brent, Shannon, Matthew, Rhandi Jo, Mhandi, Tiffany, Clint, Bruce, Jacqulene, Amanda, Christopher, and Aquene; 29 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Hatfield of Kansas City MO; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Leonard and Marty; 2 brothers, Roy and Ted ; three sisters, Sally, Kay and Judy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home.
