Glenn Leo Baker

Glenn Leo Baker, 79, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty MO.
Glenn L. Baker was born September 2, 1935 in Knox City MO the son of Fred Baker and Gracie May Dyer Baker.  He was a graduate of Knox City High School.
He was a salesman for Fox Meyer Corporation, Assistant Manager at Walmart in Chillicothe for several years, and managed the Total station in Chillicothe for 7 years.
On May 19, 1953 Glenn married Annie Victoria White at Clark MO. She preceded him in death April 7, 2011.
Glenn was a member of Soul’s Harbor Church of God, in Chillicothe and was a member of the Hedrick Hospital Auxiliary.
Glenn devoted his whole life to his family and his church. He enjoyed mechanics and restored several antique tractors ( including his father’s tractor). His pet burro, Jake, was a faithful friend and would follow Glenn around seeking a treat. He also liked gardening, growing flowers and watching baseball.
He is survived by five sons, Roger Baker and wife Dawnella of Coon Rapids IA, Rodney Baker and wife Mary Jane of Bevier MO, Randall Baker and wife Sandy of Chillicothe, Ricky Baker and wife Brenda of Chillicothe and Russell Baker and wife Melanie of Glen Carbon IL; a sister, Mabel Burt of Overland Park KS; a brother, Lawrence Baker of Downing MO; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; wife Annie V. Baker; 6 brothers and sisters.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Glenn Baker may be made to Soul’s Harbor Church of God or to the family for the purchase of a vase for their parent’s monument and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling MO.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home
