George James Beenken

     George James Beenken, 91, passed away on June 21, 2026 at Daviess County Nursing & Rehab in Gallatin, Missouri. George was born on February 18, 1935 in Waverly, Iowa to parents Gerhardt Antonie and Edna (Johnson) Beenken. He worked for many years as a plumber and carpenter.

     George filled much of his time enjoying family time, art work, dancing, and working on cars.

     George is survived by his son, James (Valerie) Beenken, daughter Susan (Rex) Arthur, grandson Jesse (Hanna) Beenken, two great-grandchildren Kayleigh & Kolton Beenken, one sister-in-law Elly Beenken, and several nieces & nephews.

     George is preceded in death by his parents, Gerhardt and Edna Beenken, his brother Everett, and sister Evelyn Roster.

     Memorials for George Beenken may be made to the family to help with grave marker expense, and may be left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N Washington St, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

     Visitation for George James Beenken is Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 5-7 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 10 AM at Union Cemetery, Newton, IA.
