Evelyn Skipper

August 30, 1919 — September 4, 2017

Evelyn Skipper, 98, of Chillicothe MO passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at her home, under the care of her family and St. Luke’s Hospice.

Martha Evelyn Skipper was born in rural Chillicothe on August 30, 1919, the daughter of Fred Hargrave and Della Maude Boon Hargrave. She attended school at the Gibbs School House in Chillicothe.

Evelyn married Kenneth Skipper in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and he preceded her in death.

Evelyn worked for Susan’s Nursing Home in Chillicothe, and she was a homemaker.

She was a very active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of WMU. Evelyn enjoyed making loom rugs, quilting and gardening, but her favorite time was spent with family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Paul Skipper (Patty) of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Candi Skipper of Chillicothe, Mark Skipper (Salina) of Chillicothe, and Jim Skipper (Tara) of Dawn, MO; 7 great grandchildren Aaron Skipper, Wyatt Skipper, Owen Skipper, Evelyn Skipper, Ben Skipper, Louisa Skipper and katie Skipper; several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth and 5 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Evelyn Skipper may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.

Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chillicothe MO.

There will be no visitation.
