Eugene Paul Olson

Eugene Paul Olson, 65, of Dawn, Missouri passed away Saturday March, 31 2018 at his home.

Eugene was born September 24, 1952 in Clarion, Iowa to parents Donald and Janice Olson. He was a graduate of Lanesboro High school in Minnesota.  He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1971 to 1974.  He was fond of the time he spent and the memories he made while serving in Germany and spent the rest of his life sharing these memories with anyone who would listen.

Eugene made a life of farming, photographing nature, listening to music and making people laugh.  His greatest joy was cooking for and spending time with his family and friends.

Eugene is survived by his daughter; Heather Mansour (Adel) of United Arab Emirates, son; Matt Olson of Dawn, Missouri, daughter; Amy Drees of Wisconsin, grandchildren; Omar and Rashid Mansour, Daniel, Jacob and Sarah Olson, Journey Olson, Marcus and Thomas Drees, great-granddaughter; Jessi Lynn Olson, brothers; Jerry Olson of Dawn, Missouri, Brian Olson of Chillicothe, Missouri, Alvern Olson (Beth) of Arkansas, sisters; Edna Riley (Dale) of New York and Neota Erdahl (Dennis) of Washington, several nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Darryl Olson.

A memorial Service in honor of Eugene will be held Wednesday April 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Dawn, Missouri. A burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials in honor of Eugene can be made to the Dawn Volunteer Fire Department or left at Heritage Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
