Donald Joseph “Joe” Constant, 68, of Chillicothe, MO died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO.
Joe was born on December 5, 1942 in Chillicothe, MO to James Harve Constant and Adda Ruth Fitzpatrick Constant.
He was a 1960 graduate of Chillicothe High School
Joe married Mary Jean Thomas on August 19, 1961 at Chula Methodist Church in Chula, MO. She survives of the home.
They had three children together, Charlotte Annette Springer, Cynthia Rae Tompkins and William Harvey Constant.
He enjoyed being outside, visiting with family and friends, and going to tractor pulls and shows.
He worked for Puralator Courier from 1966- 1979 as a route driver. In the years following, he was a truck driver and farmer. He worked at Wire Rope Corp from 1998-2005.
He was a member of American Agriculture Movement, Livingston County Steam and Gas and Missouri Rural Crisis.
He is survived by his wife Jean Constant; daughter, Cindy Tompkins and husband, Jon, of Olathe, KS; son, Harvey Constant of Chillicothe and his fiancé Sarah Gray and her son Jake of Marceline, MO; two granddaughters, Kristin Tompkins of Lenexa, KS and Kasey Tompkins of Wilmington, NC; three sisters, Helen Buckner of Wheeling MO, Lelia Stucker of Chillicothe and Lillian Frizzell of Corydon, IA; Three brothers, Jack Constant of Chillicothe, George Constant of Trenton MO and John Constant of Wheeling, MO; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Justin Springer; his parents; mother and father-inlaw, W.J.“Buster” and Ruby Thomas; sister, Clara Phillips; brother, Bud Constant; brother-in-laws, Dale Phillips, Chuck Frizzell, Felix Buckner and two infant brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, MO.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
