Diana Lightner

October 9, 1944 — June 3, 2015

Diana Charlene Lightner, 70, of Hale MO passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at North Kansas City Hospice House.
Diana was born October 9, 1944 in Chillicothe, MO.
On September 25, 1964 Diana married Jackson Gregory Lightner at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe MO.
Diana was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and NCMC earning her RN Degree. She was employed until retirement at Hedrick Medical Center.
Diana favorite memories were as a child when she would walk with her mother to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Sunday and Wednesday nights. She was later a member of St. Columban Catholic Church of Chillicothe MO.
Diana enjoyed her flowers, gardening, cross stitch, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
Diana always was a firm believer of saying, “Thank you” for everything.
She is survived by her husband Jack of the home; sons, Greg Lightner and wife Marylynne, of  Griswold IA, David Lightner and wife Wanda, of  Corydon IA; daughter Mary Saale and husband Michael, of Chillicothe MO; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers,  Jerry Greever and wife Beverly of  California MO and  Chuck Greever and wife Connie of Chillicothe MO; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her mother Dorothy Greever and grandson Zackery Young.
There has been a cremation.
A Parish Rosary will be held Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 6:00  p.m., led by Father Benjamin Kneib,  followed by a eulogy given by the Reverend Chuck Greever with the visitation to follow until 8:00  p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe MO.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chillicothe MO.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington Chillicothe MO 64601. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com
