Dennis Ray Crowe, age 60 of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away on Wednesday June 16, 2021.
Dennis was born in Chillicothe, Missouri on April 20, 1961, the son of Gerald Vernon and Patricia Ann (Graves) Crowe.
Dennis began an unbreakable bond being the oldest of six boys and three girls. In 1981 he became big brother to three more sisters when his mother, Pat, married Bill Hussey of Avalon. The kids then became the perfect dozen. Growing up he filled the big brother role well, teaching Brenda to drive and carrying around David after he managed to burn his legs. Dennis was also Granny’s favorite.
He graduated from Wheeling High School in 1979. Dennis worked in the most recent years for John Graves Foods from 1999-April 2021. Of all the jobs and work Dennis has done throughout the years, he took the most pride in his mechanic work. Dennis was also a member of NRA and was in 4-H when he was younger and showed cattle.
His love for all his nieces and nephews was evident by how he had such a willingness to learn about them so he could be involved in their life. He had a great love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Dennis was known for being very meticulous. Although, meticulous may not be a strong enough adjective for just how meticulous he could be. He was picky about his cars, his home, his work, painting and dry wall. If you would like an idea of just how picky, ask Cristi about painting and Earle about the dry wall!
He was always willing to help anyone and everyone when needed.
Dennis was survived by his mother and step-father, Pat and Bill Hussey of Avalon, Missouri; his grandmother, Louise Graves of Chula, Missouri; siblings Charlotte Osmon and husband Billy of Cainsville, Missouri, Brenda Wright and husband Earle of Jamesport, Missouri, Sister in law, Kerri Crowe of Avalon, Missouri, Bertha Dohn of Glendive, Montana, Teresa Copple of Billings, Montana, Jennifer Whisler and husband Randy of Mount Moriah, Missouri, Stacey Wheatley and husband Mark of Belgrade, Missouri, David Crowe and wife Cristi of Utica, Missouri, Darrin Crowe and wife Kim of Chillicothe, Missouri, Doug Crowe and wife Marcy of Avalon, Missouri, and Jerry Crowe of Tina, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Crowe and brother, Daniel Crowe.
Dennis never portrayed himself as an important person, but that is exactly what he was to us. Dennis will be sadly missed by his family and friends. We’ll miss his sense of humor and that unforgettable bee-boppy walk. Rest in peace brother, we love you!
Dennis has requested no services. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
