David Jones, Jr.

David Ray Jones, Jr., 73 of Hale, MO, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at North Care Hospice House, in North Kansas City, MO.
Junior Jones was born July 31, 1943 in Brookfield, MO the son of David Ray Jones, Sr. and Thelma Frances Smith Jones. He was a graduate of Tina Avalon High School and served in the National Guard for 6 years.
On September 5, 1964, Junior married the love of his life, Katherine Joyce Jacobs in Chillicothe. They were married for over 52 years and she survives of the home.
Junior was a life-long farmer in the Hale area and also worked at Donaldson’s for 17 years.
He liked hunting, playing cards, shooting guns, playing snooker, golfing, his dogs, and dancing. The greatest enjoyment in his life was his family time, spent with Joyce, the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Junior is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; daughter, Sheri Cox (Kevin) of Hale, MO; son, Larry Jones (Rita) of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Ryan (Jan) Singer, Abby Jones, Jasper Jones; great grandchildren Miley & Quincey Singer; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Rod Singer and grandson, Lance Singer.
Memorials in honor of Junior Jones may be made to the Avalon Community Center and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Blue Mound Cemetery, Dawn, MO.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
