Clifford J. “Pete”  Greenawalt , 95, of Braymer, MO died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer.
Pete was born near Lathrop, MO on May 31, 1919 to John Andrew and Mary Ann (Dixon) Greenawalt.  On March 19, 1947 he married Grace Lea Eichler of Braymer, in Troy, Kansas. To this union one child was born, Vickie Sue Greenawalt Hunt.
Pete spent his life farming. After he and Grace married they lived on their farm near Lathrop. In 1950 he was employed by Lake City Arsenal and in 1953 he went to work at Standard Steel in North Kansas City, MO as an electrician until 1957 when they moved to Grace’s parents’ farm in the Braymer community, where he lived until shortly before his death.
Over the years Pete was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Lawson, MO, the Braymer Lions Club, The Bootscooter Camping Club, Shoemakers Happy Campers, a board member of the Braymer Rural Fire Department and he was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Grace of the home; one daughter Vickie Hunt and husband Brian of Braymer; one grandson, Bradly J. Hunt and wife Rachel of Braymer; one granddaughter Kasey Wallace and husband Greg of Tabor, IA; two great grandchildren, Brenden and Rebecca Hunt of Braymer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Baxter Milligan.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Memorials in honor of Pete Greenawalt  may be made to The Braymer Lions Club or the Braymer Baptist Church  and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. One line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Braymer Baptist Church.
Burial will be at Braymer Evergreen Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Braymer Baptist Church on Monday, June 23, 2014.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
