Charlotte Nilene Manning 90, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on October 28th, 2025 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe. Charlotte was born on July 12th, 1935 in Chillicothe, MO to her parent’s, Lee Manning and Irene Fern Offield who loved her with all their hearts.
Charlotte enjoyed country drives and taking walks through the woods through all seasons. She loved spending time with her family, especially on holidays where they would all come together. She was especially close with her twin sister, Charlene and together they played musical instruments. They were so good that they could play many songs by ear alone.
Charlotte played the harmonica, jew’s harp, and piano. She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church and she worked several years at Boss Glove Factory in Chillicothe. Charlotte also used her CNA certification to provide in home care for many people later in her life. Before she moved to Morningside Center, Charlotte would spend her days crocheting and spend time with her cat, Loki.
Charlotte is survived by her sister, Betty Anderson and her husband Ron of Grandview, MO, Niece, Barbara Applebury of Chillicothe, MO, great-niece, Teresa Ausberger and her husband Matt of St. Joe, MO, great-nephew, Brent Applebury of St. Joe, MO, great great-nieces, Audri, Gwen, Ellie, and Rosie Ausberger.
She is preceded by her parents, Lee and Fern Manning, her twin sister, Charlene Clevenger, and her two brothers, Vernon and Donald Manning.
A funeral service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home at 11am on November 1st, 2025. Visitation will be held one hour before at 10am at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Edgewood Cemetery.
Memorials in honor of Charlotte Nilene Manning may be made to Grand River Multi-Purpose Center to support Meals on Wheels.
