Carolyn Jo Hicks Stephens 87, a resident of Chillicothe, MO passed away on November 18, 2024 at Liberty Hospital.

Carolyn was born the first and only daughter of Joseph M and Dorothy Cooper Hicks on December 7, 1936 near Lock Springs, Missouri. Carolyn attended grade school in Lock Springs and graduated from High School in Chillicothe, Missouri with class of 1954.

On May 23, 1954 she was united in marriage to her high school sweet heart, Gerald Dee Stephens of Sampsel, Mo.

Carolyn worked many years at the Citizens National Bank in Chillicothe and then helped where she could on the farm. She loved gardening and yard work.

She and Gerald were the proud parents of two sons: Reid and Scott both of Chillicothe. They, celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on May 23,2024

Carolyn was member of the First Baptist Church where she helped with the youth for nearly 50 years, Rich Hill Community 4-H Leader, F.F.A Chapter Mother, member of Chillicothe Farmerettes, P.E.O. Chapter T, Lamplighters S.S. Class and delivered Meals on Wheels. She also regularly visited friends at nearby nursing homes.

Carolyn loved dearly her family and friends and was always available in times of need.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Gerald and two sons: Reid (Natalie) and Scott (Sherry); 8 Grandchildren: Katie, Reid Jr, Zachary, Brooks, Brett and Blake Stephens, Chelsea Tedlock, and Cassie Graham; and 10 great grandchildren: Trinity, Charity, Faith & Myles Kinley Stephens and Eli, Landon, Bowen and Grace Graham, and Alden & Mona Tedlock. She had several nephews.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald’s parents Arnold and Stella Stephens, two sisters-in-laws: Nadine James and Eulav Cooper: and brother Jim Hicks

Memorials in honor of Carolyn can be made out to First Baptist Church or Chillicothe Festival of Lights.

Services will be at First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Mo. Visitation will be from 12:00 till 2:00 with Funeral to follow at 2:00 on Saturday November 23, 2024

Burial Edgewood Cemetery.
