          Betty Jean O’Dell, 96, of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.

          Betty was born in Livingston, County April 19, 1926 to parents William Edward Baker and Pearl Adeline (Williams) Baker. She married the love of her life, Donald Ruben O’Dell on September 20, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2015. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

          Betty enjoyed flowers, horses and country music. Her greatest joy was her family time. Betty treated her nieces and nephews as her own children. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with family and supporting her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Cheering them on was a great pleasure to her.

          Betty is survived by her nephews Bub Baker and wife Joyce of Chillicothe, David Baker and wife Cindy of SpringHill, Chris Baker and wife Amy of Chillicothe, Terry Baker of Moberly, nieces Brenda Block and husband Ed of Chillicothe, Vicki Lingard of Meadville, several great nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Vernon O’Dell of Florida.

          Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ruben O’Dell, parents William Edward and Pearl Adeline Williams Baker, brothers, Milford Tillman (Pat) Baker and wife Alma, Buel Ross (Tuffy) Baker and wife Josephine, Vivian Arlene (Bib) Bryson, two infant sisters.

          Memorials in honor of Betty may be made to Utica Cemetery and can be left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be made at www.heritage-becausewecare.com 

          Graveside services will be held at Utica Cemetery Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm.

          Friends may call Wednesday September 28,2022 from 9 am until 4 pm.

          Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
